The game of cricket took a lot of time and it is one of those reasons that the Olympic authorities never took interest in cricket.

USA Cricket today hailed the news that the ICC has confirmed its intent to bid for cricket in the Olympic Games from Los Angeles 2028 onward.

ICC has set a team to lead the bid on behalf of the sport which will be focused on cricket becoming part of the Olympics for LA 2028.

What were the possible reasons behind the exclusion of cricket in the Olympics?

1. The game of cricket takes a lot of time in comparison of other games in the Olympics.

2. Cricket is not popular in other parts of the world. Cricket is the most popular game in Asia.

3. Cricket did not get popularity when it was first introduced in the Olympics of 1900 in Paris.

4. International Olympic Committee has its headquarters in Lausanne, Switzerland in Europe. Cricket is not very popular in Europe.
